I feel like the world looks towards the church and expects them to “have it all together” so to speak. This can be troublesome to those who are just beginning their faith journey, and to those who are just beginning to have a relationship with Jesus. There is a misconception that being a Christian means things will always go well for you. Some people think that just because you know Jesus means that you won’t face obstacles, or be faced with hardships. This is simply, not true.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” -Exodus 14:14
God has a plan for each and every one of us. Each one of us was brought into this world with a purpose and calling on our life. Have you identified your gift? Your calling? Although, using the gift God has given us is not always going to be easy, and the situations we are in are not always going to be easy, that doesn’t mean that we are supposed to do nothing.
As you continue reading into the next verse…
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!” – Exodus 14:15
God doesn’t want us to stand there in fear when we are faced with an obstacle. He wants us to keep moving!
If you are obedient to God, continuously seek His will for your life, and follow the example he has set before us in Jesus Christ, when you face an obstacle or are dealing with a hardship, you have no reason to fear the outcome. You don’t need to worry about Him equipping you for your journey. (Romans 8:28)
My prayer for you is that you never worry if God will do what he says he’s going to do. God is faithful. You can rest in Him and be still.
