Obedience

So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!

2 Kings 5:14

When was the last time in your life that you stepped out in faith and listened to what God was telling you to do?  What kept you from being obedient?  Fear? Worry? God knows what is best for us.  There will be times when he asks us to do things that we don’t understand, but we must trust and obey.  God wants us to obey him so we can witness His miracles and His blessings for us.

We can trust God even when we don’t quite understand Him, its important to understand that He may ask us to do things we don’t understand in order to help us surrender in total obedience.

My biggest struggle with obedience is fear.  Fear of the unknown.   It’s scary to step out in faith and trust that God will take care of us.  What if the outcome isn’t what we expect. Something I’ve learned is that I can’t have expectations when it comes to following God’s will for my life.  What I want, is not always what God says I need.

It’s better to put effort into doing what He wants than to question his reasoning, because even if God’s way is not our way, it’s always the best way.
