Recently, I’ve been spending a lot of quiet time with God, and a lot of time in prayer thanks to the Journal Challenge.  It’s been great to be able to make prayer a priority and be intentional about spending time with God.  In doing this, the heart of people around me and more importantly the heart of our church have been revealed.  This is making me do a lot of self-reflection, and look at ways that I need to change personally.

There are times in our lives when we need to look at how we are living.  We need to reevaluate and look at how our actions need to be redirected by the Word of God.  I can see areas in my life where my lifestyle is leading me away from God, and I can see areas within our church where we need to work a little harder when it comes to showing God’s love to others.

If you are feeling like your lifestyle is leading you away from God, spend time reading God’s Word, and in prayer.  This will bring you back to a place of purpose and peace.  Seeking God is one of the best ways for you to find direction.

God knows that this world offers many luxuries, and that’s not bad.  However, when those luxuries become more important than Him,  you will feel empty.  Think about all the luxuries in your life, and reflect on the things you do, and why you are doing it.  Ask yourself if you are seeking God first.  If you seek God first you will live a life worth living and ultimately bring glory and honor to God.

It’s important that you remember that this world is temporary.  You’re home is not here, but in Heaven.  You are an extension of God’s love, so do not connect your heart to things of this world.  Connect your entire life to God for eternity.
