Scripture: John 21:15-19
This week our Pastor spoke about doing what God has called you to do. If you’d like to read the sermon for yourself, the link is above. Below are a few highlights from the sermon that I felt were important and worth remembering and thinking more about.
- To be redeemed is to be made new.
- By the power of God, those in Christ are empowered to lay down their sin and take up the ways of Christ.
- Redemption is something that Jesus does for me, but it is also something that Jesus does through me for the world. Redemption says to me through faith in Christ, “You are saved, you are adopted into the household of God, God will never abandon you.”
- Jesus is not simply forgiving Peter, he is redeeming him; Peter trades his three denials of Jesus for his three affirmations of love for Jesus.
